Nancy Jefts

Associate Broker

Born into a real estate family, it was inevitable I would join the family business, Charles W. Jefts Real Estate. I became licensed in 1978 but then went off to get my bachelor's degree in international business and German at Lake Erie College in Ohio.  I lived 2 years in Germany achieving my goal of German fluency but I missed Lake George and the Adirondacks. I returned home and began to work full time in the family business in 1983. In 2000 I was ready for a little change and cut back on my hours to attend massage therapy school. I became licensed in massage therapy in 2001 and maintain a small private practice which blends perfectly with real estate.  In 2006 I decided not to take over my parents' business as they retired. I called my favorite competitors, Davies-Davies and Associates,  and asked to join them. We are a great fit, sharing the highest ethical standards and concern for our clients and customers. (We're also all animal lovers!) I specialize in Warren County properties, for both vacation and primary residential use.  Having grown up in the Village of Lake George and on the lake at Kattskill Bay, I have a special spot in my heart for those areas. However, since 1988 I've been a resident of Brant Lake and have since learned that Warren County and our neighboring counties, Washington and Essex are full of wonderful places.  By the way, the photo is with Zoe on a spring hike overlooking Lake George.

Back in 1989 my interest in German led me to take part in a business exchange with Germany that was sponsored by Rotary International.  After spending 5 incredible weeks touring Bavaria, I had a debt to pay and joined the Rotary Club of Lake George. I just finished my second stint as President of the small but incredibly active club. Our activities range from providing scholarships to local high school seniors, hosting foreign exchange students, to providing grant money to other local non-profits and so much more.  Each year we raffle off a Honda Goldwing motorcycle during Americade, the Honda motorcycle rally held in Lake George for a week each June.  This and our Radio Day fund raiser, where we sell ads that we read on 101.7FM for two days in July, bring in most of the funds for our budget. If you live locally and are interested in community service with lots of fun mixed in, I'd love to share more about Rotary. If you are already a Rotarian, visiting the area, I welcome you to make up with us at the Holiday Inn in Lake George, 6pm on Monday nights. We love to have visitors and hope to see you there.

My professional service has included the Board of Directors of the Warren County Association of Realtors as well chairing the Grievance Committee. I have also served on Board of Directors of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and currently serve on the Business Enhancement Committee of the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerc.
